THE YACHTLINER FEBRUARY 2010
Yachtline's newsletter for customers
Days are getting longer. Some of us have emerged from the snow and ice long enough to get to the London boat show, and very excellent it was. We had spring in our step when we opened our office in the south of France at the beginning of January, but sadly even the Cote d'Azur has been having snowstorms this winter. We hope by the time this reaches you, that we are over the worst.
Yachtline en français
In January we launched our online quote service in French doing business through our office in Saint Raphael on the Cote d'Azur. We look forward to hearing from the 800,000 boat owners in France. We didn't expect rapid results given we launched in the middle of winter in very poor weather but were delighted that within a couple of hours we had two enquiries. To contact the office in Saint Raphael email info@yachtline.fr or call on +33 (0) 494 83 11 83.
Yachtline in Canadian dollars
To make things plain sailing for our Canadian customers, Yachtline can now quote and accept payment in Canadian dollars.
Prompt Payment on a Total Loss
Sadly, one of our customers suffered a total loss off the coast on New Year's Day in very dramatic circumstances. Happily there was no loss of life. He made a claim, of course, and we are proud to say, it was paid within three weeks. To see a video of the poor yacht helplessly beached after the sea had done its worst, go to YouTube - Yacht 'Justice' on a Kentish beach.
In the lead in the 2009 Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race
Yachtline's sponsored solo Atlantic rower, Charlie Pitcher took an early lead in the 2009 Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race even against other boats the a whole team of rowers. Superman Charlie! He is raising money for Addenbrooke's hospital. For those with a microscope, the Yachtline logo is high on the port bulkhead and under the oar. See www.transatlanticsolo.com for more.
