Yachtline Privacy Policy

Introduction

Yachtline take data protection seriously. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (www.ico.gov.uk), under registration number Z7846325, and comply with the eight basic principles of the Data Protection Act 1998; these state that the personal details we ask for should be:

  • Processed for limited purposes
  • Adequate, relevant and not excessive
  • Accurate and up to date
  • Not kept for longer than is necessary
  • Processed in line with your rights

  • Not transferred to other countries without adequate protection

To this end we aim to maintain consistently high levels of best practice in our processing of your personal data.

We do not sell or trade your personal information to other people or organizations

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to help provide the goods or services that you request. We may also use the information to communicate with you and to personalize any information we may send to you.

We use secure databases to store any information that you provide us and our web-server, in common with industry standards, also logs the various pages that you visit to obtain aggregated statistical information.

In general we will be using your data to prepare an insurance quotation for you. To this end we will need to disclose your details to a third party. They should only use your details for the purposes of administering the service provided (e.g. calculating pricing, administering claims etc.).

We require our third-party suppliers (and any of their subsequent suppliers) to maintain the security and confidentiality of the information which we pass onto them. We request them to agree to use the data for the agreed purposes only and to ensure that it is not used for any other purpose. We will only disclose the absolute minimum amount of data necessary for them to be able to provide the product or service.

Generally, by providing the requested data, you consent to Yachtline Limited using that data for administrative purposes and for informing you of other products and services which we believe will be of interest to you.

Disclosure of information to third parties

As previously mentioned we do not sell or trade your information to other people or organizations and will never disclose information about you to third parties, except with regard to fulfilling your specific orders or enquiries for a product or service, or unless we are obliged to pass on your information to the Police or any other lawful authority.

We endeavour to respond to written requests for data within 10 working days. The Law allows us a maximum response period of 40 days.
